Steve Backus, a legend in the chainsaw-carving world, will be leading his second annual chainsaw carving 'boot camp' to teach others how to become chainsaw carvers. Last October, four newbies from as far as Massachusetts and Pennsylvania traveled to Woodland, California learn to carve with some of the top carvers in the industry. Bailey's, an outdoor power equipment and tree care supply company located in Woodland, California hosted the event where it will take place this t! ime around, too. In addition to Bailey's, Makita Power Tools will also be sponsoring the event this time, supplying many of the chainsaws and hand power tools that the students will be working with to create the fine details on their carvings. Steve Backus was born into a chainsaw carving family and has been spreading the joy of chainsaw carving for many years.
